Description
First drawing submitted since July. I was gone for a long time, wasn't I.. It's my (extremely late) part of a character exchange between me and 
. I'm sorry for the delay!
The character I made for her is called Naytila. She's a Legendarian Northern dragon like all the other dragon characters I have made so far, and Rei is the first to get a member of any of my own species!
Her colours took me a long time to get right, but I think I did pretty well in that department! Now if I just could do as nice with the markings.. xD The ruins in the background are the remnants of an old elven trading post. While the character belongs to Reithya, she gave me her approval to include Naytila in my dragon story, so I decided to depict her next to one of the sights of Legendaria. (Hell, I really need to come up with a better name for the world! 
)
Despite how Naytila turned out, though, I'm not really happy with this piece. At the beginning I had much greater plans for it, with bushes and trees and blades of grass and moss covering the bricks and so on, but as days began to stretch into weeks and the artwork still wasn't done, I realized I needed to step down from what I was up to and make the drawing much simpler, else Rei would never see it done. And while there are some details that weren't present in any of my previous art, like the shadows or actual manmade (or well, elfmade) objects in the background, the whole work is very plain and flat. That, and the piece I made before this, which was for Reithya too, had a much nicer shading.. And all that while taking much, much longer to draw it than any previous piece of mine. Perhaps I'm not ready for elaborate backgrounds yet, or maybe I just need to learn faster and more detailed. Either way, I'm probably going to focus on simpler things for a while. XD

This image, is not only lovely, but perfect. Having such a structured background, with all the stones, and angles, and corners, they all help to form a stable background that I can see existing. Not only that, they help Nay's smooth features become even smoother, as they are the only real smooth, curving lines in the entire picture. The colors are perfect- like that of a late setting sun. You drew it so softly, but I love the colors and shading that you used- so subtle, but there regardless. Thank you very much for doing a character trade with me!
