(This is out of the normal weekend-posting schedule, sorry all! I had a little too much fun on the weekend and now I'm trying to catch up >.>)

Meet Venomous, 's dragon character! Venomous is very interesting both because of his elaborate design and because of his personality, since he's rather villainous for a main character. Drawing him was not easy at all, but I still had a lot of fun doing it (:

I actually have a love-hate feeling for this piece. On one hand it went a lot better than expected and it's finally something that looks like finished artwork even if it's not particularly complex in itself. On the other hand there's a lot of thing about this that ended up wrongs, some small (messed up some markings and some anatomy details, ...) some larger and more serious (I just noticed I drew Veno's wings up side down D: ). It also made me realise that my biggest problem right now is that I lack a sense of perspective, and it's really holding me back. Here in this picture the issue is mostly hidden and it manages to look relatively nice because of that, but the picture would have been much more impactful if I knew how to make Venomous look straight at the moon.

If you are wondering how can I talk about this as if it looked any good, it's because the scanner competely butchered it. It just drained all the colour until the paper appeared almost empty, so I had to run it through a photo manipulation program which ruined all the fine details. I wish you people could see the real picture because there's so much you can't see here, the moon is actually shaded, the background doesn't look like a sloppily scribbled mess and the shading on Venomous himself is so much more detailed. But oh well, at least I managed to get it into the computer I guess. In the end I had fun and Pandii liked it (I hope!), so there's that xD

Time needed: 10 hours (About a third of that was spent on the background. Made a fine dinner for the scanner)
