A Century Or Twelve

Pictured is Erkan-Tyria, the last surviving Elder in Legendaria. She's a cross between a (scaly) Legendarian Northern dragon and a (furred) Legendarian Western dragon, with most of her bloodline being of the Northern kind. Tyria is almost 1200 years old, far beyond the typical lifespan of a typical Legendarian dragon. This is because she is an Elder; Elders are the only dragons able to control magic willingly, and most of them (Tyria included) use these abilities to extend their lives. In fact, Tyria is so old the naming conventions have changed considerably since her birth, which is why her name is so different from that of other dragons.

This is my first attempt at digital shading. It taught me a lot about shading, and that doing it with a mouse is only for the masochistic or truly desperate. I don't like the result at all. Somehow, I feel like I have done better, even if it's most likely not true. After all, I spent four whole hours doing it again and again, which helped trendemously, but the result it still only barely good enough to be posted at all..
